The Alps Val Calanca

Recharge.green is the international project focused on researching the potential of the Alps regarding the use of renewable energy. There are a great potential that needs to be discovered in the highest European mountains.

The Alps have great potential for the use of renewable energy. That is why they can make a valuable contribution to mitigating climate change. This, however, means increasing pressure on nature. What could be the impact of such changes on animals and plants? How do they affect land use and soil quality? How much renewable energy can reasonably be used?

The project recharge.green brings together 16 partners to develop strategies and tools for decision-making, as well as developing tools to answer such questions. It will last till June 2015 (started in October 2012) and finish with the final conference in Sonthofen in Germany (20-21 May 2015). It is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund in the Alpine Space Programme.

The international conference is aimed at decision makers, representatives of administrations, energy companies, NGOs and anyone else interested in the topic. The conference programme will be available recharge.green website where you can find more information about the project.
