To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Valais joining to the Swiss Confederation a special event is prepared. In a moonless night several of four-thousanders surrounding the valley will be illuminated.
It is the most spectacular event to celebrate the anniversary and for sure, worth seeing. 13 mountains, Allalin, Täschhorn, and Dom, among others, in Valais region will shine at the same time at night.
The so-called “star project” will take place between 18th and 20th March (at 8.15 p.m.), depending on the weather conditions. If you are in Saas-Fee at that time here you will find the best observation points to admire the amazing views:
- in front of the barns between the Tourist Office and the Post Office.
- on the village square
- at Sportplatz Kalbermatten
- on the Panorama bridge
