Wine walking in Piedmont

Day one

We meet up at the airport or the train station and go together to Villa Tiboldi, a boutique hotel perfectly placed between the manicured vineyards and the lush hills of Langhe and Roero.

Alba is the absolute epicenter for Italian truffles. Here you will be participating in the search for the black gold together with Luca and Martina, father and daughter and trifolau. You will learn more about truffle in the field, truffle in the food and how truffle dogs search. It's fascinating to see the dogs work! Surely you will also hear some good story, such as the one about the circus lion on the run ... the trifolau can go far to keep ahead of the competition.

Day two 

A delicious breakfast buffet to start off the morning with the right foot. After an extra cup of creamy espresso, we linger our shoes for a walk in the beating heart of Barolo, among the ripe Nebbiolo grape. Visit to the wine producer Cascina Pugnane, located at the crossroads of three different municipalities renowned for their production of Barolo: Monforte, Castiglione Falletto and the homonymous Barolo. The farm has a history dating back to the year 1600 and the production is reduced to concentrate the essence and quality of the final product. Lunch at the farm based on traditional appetizers, selection of meats and cheeses, dessert and wine pairing.

The trekking continues and we make a sweet stop for tasting fruit and vegetables from the farm Il Bosco delle Galline, managed by Viviana who with care and dedication cultivates and produces healthy, traditional and tasty food.

We continue all the way to Monforte, through the narrow streets steeped in the aristocratic history of the small town of Barolo.

Day three

Today’s scenic walk will bring us to the the small town of Alba. Here we are welcomed byJessica and her family who will show us how to make the their traditional sourdough bread. We have home made lunch here with the family's own wine in the glas.

Continuation of the trek towards Treiso, following the road climbing between the Nebbiolo, Barbaresco and Dolcetto vineyards. Arrival at the historic Pelissero winery, where the family with skilled hands, takes care of 38 hectares of property cultivated with vineyards. Visit to the cellar and tasting.

Return to the Villa for the Pizza dinner accompanied by different types of Craft Beers, presented by the producer.

Day four 

The small town Grinzane Cavour, houses one of the oldest and most fascinating castles in Piedmont. We visit thecatle with its museum dedicated to local food and wine tradition. Trekking to Diano d'Alba, a town renowned for the production of Dolcetto wine, the most common and typical grape of the region. Picnic near the red giant bench, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the hills of the lower Langa. 

Continuation of the trekking towards Montelupo Albese and stop at the Wolfrest distillery, where you will taste different types of Langa Gin. This Family-run business was born to enhance the excellent botanicals, favored by the sea currents from the Ligurian Riviera. Restart of the trek to Albaretto della Torre for a toast on top of the medieval tower of the village and show cooking of a local chef of the famous herb omelette. 

Dinner in Villa based on mixed grill accompanied by wines presented by the producer.

Day five 

Short walk through the historic center of Alba. Free time to explore the town considered to be the capital of the UNESCO Human Heritage hilly area of Langhe . Transfer and workshop on cheese, where the producer with expert hands and a long family tradition will explain breeding and production techniques. Lunch at the same facility with local products.
