From the upcoming Friday you can try something real genuine in Zermatt - overnight in an igloo. 

On the 5th December the Zermatt Igloo Village will be opened. There are some igloos already built at the location with a view of the Matterhorn. You can also try and build one for yourself using prepared blocks of snow. 

The Igloo Village is located in six locations in Switzerland and even one in Spain, in Pyrenees. Every year igloos are made of 3000 tons of snow. It is a very ecological and sustainable hotel, although, seasonal. 

This year the Zermatt Igloo Village offers some new options, like more romantic Love Nest. At the beginning of winter price reductions come until Christmas. If you are not sure about sleeping in an ice environment, there are always a possibility to visit the village, drink in an igloo bar or even have a barbecue.
