Seasoner in Champoluc

Author: SuperUser Account  /  Categories: Blog  /

This is a guest blog post written by Siri, a Swedish girl who worked as a  seasoner in Champoluc for TheAlps travel agency. Thank you Siri!

“Hello!

My name is Siri and I am going to write a guest blog post here on Marta's blog for you.

I recently returned from a fantastic winter season in Champoluc. I was there for three and a half months, enjoying the stunning mountains and the beautiful small village. During my time there I worked with TheAlps. What an experience!

Siri!

Champoluc gave me an impression of solidarity. Everybody was so open to each other, and even to me who did’nt knew anyone in the beginning!

It was a great feeling to walk the small cobbled street and know that there is always someone who had time for a coffee in the sun. Or when you woke up in the morning, took a coffee at Atelier and then got up to the wonderful slopes. Not mentioning the snow...

The pistes were magical, off-piste were even more magical and everything was so beautiful that even if you lived there for several weeks, you were struck by how beautiful nature around you was every morning.

Seasoners who were there and worked during the winter had a strong fellowship , we had dinners and parties together all the time. The bars arranged small events and other fun things every week, and we never said no. After long nights you get up early, either for work or for skiing. I worked partly as Au Pair for a family, and partly at TheAlps.

The opportunity to take care of guests, welcoming them to a village that you love so much, it's true joy. The guests at TheAlps are varied, sometimes they are small families, sometimes a bunch of guys and sometimes a cute couple. My part of it all was simply to do what the guest wanted help with. Give them there ski passes, help them to hire skies, guide them in the slopes, and give hints on restaurants etc. Some guests wanted catering, so I acted chef (and even dinner guest of course). Fun with so much variety in a job! Getting back there is no doubt. And for all of you who are thinking of a week, two, or an entire season in paradise – go!”
