Saas-Fee is famous for its underground train, the highest in the world. It will celebrate the 30th anniversary.

The highest funicular in the world, as well as the highest subway in the world at the same time because The Metro Alpin operates undergrounds, was opened on the 20th December 1984. It takes tourists through 1749-m-long tunnel to Mittelallalin station on 3456 m above the sea level.

Metro AlpinOn the occasion of the 30th anniversary Saas-Fee is preparing special events and attractions at the Felskinn valley station and the Mittelallalin mountain station. Until the 28th December all visitors have a chance to take part in the competition and win ski passes and guided tours around Metro Alpin. Look for the competition box at the entrance to the ice pavilion.
