The Matterhorn Ski resort received the Best Ski Resort in the Alps award 2014. It is based on an independent survey that shows the tourist satisfaction. Zermatt won for the first time.

During the ceremony held in Zurich at the beginning of November Zermatt receibed the Best Ski Resort award 2014. In the independent survey of skiing areas Swiss resort received top marks in 8 of 21 criteria of satisfaction, and high marks in other catogories.

“As representatives of the ski area and the Zermatt-Matterhorn resort, it is an honour and a privilege for us to receive this award. The honour represents confirmation from the visitors how much they appreciate our ongoing programme of investments in quality of service and the constant expansion of the tourist services”

said director of Zermatt Tourism Daniel Luggen accepting the award during the ceremony.

Best Ski Resort is the biggest independent satisfaction survey for Alpine resorts and it conducted every two years. 48 000 tourists during the winter season 2013/2014 in 55 selected, leading ski resorts took part in the survey. Zermatt was highly rated for its snow conditions and extensive pistes.
